Simon peeked out from under the two. He curiously poked at the large snake. No reaction. He was quite satisfied it had worked. Purring quietly, he carefully removed himself from the two. He was preparing to remove Lev, but it seemed move convenient to leave him here.
Simon gave a small 'eep!' at the sudden pull and was soon looking at Lev. "...you know, this isn't the best way to thank someone for just saving your life." With a simple snap of Simon's fingers, Lev's body unfroze, though Simon wondered if it was the wisest choice for his own sake. "You should be happy I decided to help you. Snake boy is gonna be frozen for a while."

"I had that fight under control, boy." Lev's eyes narrowed dangerously. He slipped out of the coils of Azuhoatl's tail and tightened his grip on Simon, a stone-cold expression chiseled into his features.
"And if you're planning to go around betraying me one moment and 'saving' me the next, I can assure you that one of us will have to go... and it certainly will not be me. Do you enjoy playing around with me in this place? Do you want to make it all the more difficult to finish what I need to finish?? Do you?!"
He could feel his temper rising, but he did nothing to stop it; he knew that when he got angry, things got done, whether people liked it or not...

"Just shut up." With another snap, Lev was once more paralyzed, his body going limp instantly, and falling into the sand. He was still conscious and his psychic powers were now blocked. "Don't think you have so much control here Lev. I don't know what or who you are out there, but in here, psychic powers or not, you're useless. You better learn to get used to it." He said this with as much malice as Lev. "And how is having you walk a few feet considered 'betrayal'?"

"Well, from what I saw, I'd say you were making a pretty speedy getaway with that squid there!" Lev retorted, trying to push himself up out of the sand but only succeeding in getting halfway before falling over again.
In his mind, he was furious. This boy had called him useless! Oh, he was going to pay for that, he most surely was going to.

"Hey! That squid just happened to be the one who suggested I come back for you in the first place! You should thank him for looking out for you like that." Simon was just about tired of Lev. He didn't deserve his help. Not at all.

"Perhaps I'd be able to do that if I could actually move correctly?!" Lev almost interrupted, frustration evident in his voice as he thrashed in the sand.

"If I let you do that you'd kill me, right?" Simon could see the intent in his eyes. Suddenly he noticed the snake twitch slightly. He stepped back a few paces.

Just because he was paralyzed did not mean that Azuhoatl couldn't hear the two arguing nearby. And it was beginning to get on the snake's last nerve. He had cornered an intruder and was losing a fight when all of the sudden an annoying little Censor paralyzed him in mid-attack and now they were griping and seething at each other.
"Enough!" He hissed loudly, only just able to talk through paralyzed jaws, "Ssssstop thisss foolish arguing and fighting! For crying out loud, you two are worsssse than Cerberussss and he outnumbersss you 3 to 2!" He flexed his body, feeling the stamp's effect just barely beginning to lift.

"Holy s**t! You're not supposed to be moving already!" Simon paled, but regained his composure. "He does have a point though Lev. Fighting will get us no where."

Lev froze for a moment, staring as Azuhoatl began to move again. Then a determined- if you could call it anything other than rageful- expression took over his face, and he managed to push himself back into a standing position.
He looked back at Simon awkwardly, the final effects of the stamp messing with him, and spat, "Don't interfere again, or I may get confused as to who I'm fighting." Then he turned back towards the snake, who was gaining more and more of his flexibility by the second.

Azuhoatl moved, haltingly, slowly, and with great difficulty, back to a fighting stance. The small Censor had messed with his ability to move quite a lot.
"Why do you sssstill wish to fight? You have the key from my ruins and I cannot move well enough to sssstop you. Thisssss would hardly be a fair fight, either."

"You are so right, lets go Lev!" He said quickly, but Lev still had a good grip on his collar, keeping him from escaping. Simon quietly flipped Lev off, while his focus was on the snake in front of them.

"I've learned to always finish my fights..." Lev replied, shifting his center of balance lower in case the snake dove at him, "...so they don't come back to fight me later."

Lev started suddenly, picking up on Simon's none-too-quiet thought. He was frozen for a moment, a blank expression of disbelief plastered onto his features.
However, this did not last long, for the Russian quickly growled, turned on his heel and snatched Simon up by the collar of his sweater almost all in the same second. "...WHAT did you say?" he snarled softly, his red eyes narrowed and staring their piercing glare straight through the boy's goggles.
