Cannon Or Original?: Original, and planned a bit with Lexxi.
Character Name: Lev Tchaikovsky
Aliases: Leo, The Phantom of the Ruins
Special Abilities: He's very flexible, a quick critical thinker, and can attack with great precision at the drop of a hat. He's also a psychic.
Profession: N/A
Skills: Lev's managed to figure out many techniques of twisting out of harm's way and out of straitjackets; he can almost look like an acrobat when he fights; he's also very very very persistent and stubborn. His psychic specialties are Cryokinesis and Psychodetonation (it's Dogen's head-explody power!) and the sheer power he can put into those abilities make up for the rest of his body's weaknesses. On a different, Lev's pain tolerance and concentration are among some of the best, and he is always brave even when he's been beaten into the ground, so to speak. (He also has an astounding capacity for scientific and mechanical knowledge since he majored in those two subjects in college.)
Weaknesses: He is criminally insane, diagnosed with ultra-ultra rapid cycling bipolar disorder (think Gloria's mood swings) and schizophrenia; his people skills are nonexistent; his self-esteem is horrible (he practically hates himself) and he trusts nobody with anything. He's also very physically weak.
Special Note: Lev has huge anger issues that stem from his childhood and actually helped to create his bipolar disorder way back when, and often causes things to explode when he's angry. Also, he loves music, especially the kind created by the theremin, a Russian-made electrical instrument that creates a sound by detecting where your hand is in relation to its antenna. (Search 'theremin' on YouTube!)
Age: Unknown; looks in his thirties, but could be in early forties and look young.
Gender: Male
Description: Lev is a tall, relatively thin man; he stands at 6' 1" and weighs about 185 pounds. His skin is a pale and icy blue-violet that almost makes him look as if he froze to death, and his hair is somehow naturally dark violet-black at the roots and fades to an electrifying blonde at the tips. His eyes are a bright red, and often the only part of him that can be seen when he's in the dark. His eyes are also rimmed with black from a genetic trait. He has a square face and jaw, but a surprisingly long, graceful neck as well; all in all, he looks like a sharp, thin stick-person from afar.
Clothing Style/Uniform: Lev always wears only black, because it makes him less visible and he's come to like it that way. Usually he has a dark sweater, with a jacket over top of that. He wears black slacks for his pants, and often has some dark, pointed shoes on to finish the outfit. It's a rather unassuming outfit for a villain, really.
Family: He was orphaned at a very young age, about 4 or 5, when his parents discovered he was psychic. (He was born in an extremely superstitious part of Russia which considered psychics or anything else of the sort bad luck.) His subconscious has suppressed those memories, so he doesn't remember anything specific about them.
Personality: Hateful is the one thing that can best describe Lev. His history can be the blame for that; events in his life have rotted at his insane mind until nothing was left except for the capacity to hate and envy any human he could ever meet or even think of. Lev goes from slightly amused manic periods in which he'll often be more talkative and 'humorous' than normal to terrifying, rageful depressive periods, marked by large amounts of accusing, yelling, nearby objects and walls exploding, and general cacaphony. However, he has a soft spot for anyone who is brave enough to approach him without fear or the intent to reject him; this soft spot also opens up for children, usually those under the age of 10. When he's being nice, Lev is awkward, a little less violent, and much more curious. He is still likely to get jealous of people, though.
Quirks: Even though he received no formal training, he is a very powerful psychic; probably from parts of his mind disintegrating enough to allow large amounts of psychic energy to emerge and become useful to him. Lev's also got a good ear and a beautiful, loud, and somewhat mournful singing voice, even though his voice is often raspy and weak. He also aspired to write songs for the theremin when he was a child. His accent is that of a Russian who's been away from home too long (which he has.) Lev also doesn't smile; you're very lucky if you manage to see one side of his mouth raise for even a second. You're even luckier if you live to tell the tale. Part of why Lev doesn't smile is because he subconsciously believes he is a demon from years of others claiming that he was one and thinks that demons aren't supposed to be pleasant. However, consciously, he doesn't believe any god of any sort even exists.
One more note is that Lev constantly hears music- any kind of instrumental music- as the major auditory hallucinations he has because of schizophrenia. The musical hallucination seems to be interlinked with some subconscious psychic powers, since it will grow louder, softer, faster, or slower depending on the situation and whether people are around. (Generally, the more potential danger for him, the louder and faster the music becomes.) Lev dislikes this music, even though it is often a good predictor of his safety.
Likes: Music, being alone, cold weather, night, quiet, hurting others, theremins, singing, lakes and rivers, cold places, and dark colors.
Dislikes: Human kind, being psychic, his past, noises that were not caused by himself (not including people screaming in agony or terror because of him), being shown he has feelings other than hate, Thorney Towers, straitjackets, excessive heat, and many many many other things.
History: Lev was born in a small Russian village and was given up by his parents when they discovered he was psychic; about when he was four. He was taken in by the local orphanage, where he was rejected by all the children. Lev could also feel that the people running the place didn't approve of him either, and so he became moody because no one liked him. Eventually he was moved from orphanage to orphanage because of his anger issues; people who were just standing by would think something bad about him and if he heard, he'd fall upon them as a ball of fury, fighting with them until someone calmed him down, which was impeccably hard to do. He finally left the orphanage when he was old enough, and when he was much older (probably about 28) he was diagnosed with both bipolar disorder stemming from his anger problems and schizophrenia, which was making him hear music no one else heard. He was committed to a Russian asylum, and the trend of jumping from place to place repeated itself as Lev developed a nasty tendency to attack orderlies and a moody, violent personality. He was eventually moved to a prestigious asylum in the U.S., and from there to Thorney Towers, where he was eventually forgotten when he was placed in one of the underground rooms. He had been down in his sanctuary when the asylum fell and thus survived through the whole thing. Soon after the whole thing had finished, he managed to wiggle out of his straitjacket and put into action a plan he'd concocted during his many years in the many asylums he'd been juggled around. The world had rejected him and given him pain; he was going to reject the world and show them- all of them- the pain he'd felt all through his life. He began to salvage machinery from the asylum's ruins, and eventually created an interesting device... and I can't tell you about it because it'd be spoiler-filled.

Roleplay Sample: This was it. It was finally ready. It would succeed, and prove now that his invention would be able to perform what it was meant for.
Lev crossed the room, the small object clasped in both of his cold hands. In front of him, a young woman was strapped to an old restraint bed that had been used in the asylum in years before, her eyes full of fear as she looked around the room wildly. He knew that in the flickering fluorescent light she'd only be able to see his eyes, which pleased him somehow. It's easier to be scared if you can't see what's coming, he decided finally.
He loomed over the young woman, his odd invention in hand as she thrashed, trying to free herself from the restraint bed.
"Time for an experiment, Marie," he said in his weak rasping accent as he strapped the invention onto her forehead and turned a dial. "Don't fail me, now," he whispered as she was suddenly pulled deep into her psyche, about to experience her worst pains all over again. Just as had happened to him, during all his time.
He almost smiled. Perhaps the world will accept me now, he thought in an ironic way, as the woman began to wail.
