The Toy Box
~ Look of Door ~
The door is somewhat obnoxiously colored, painted with bright reds, blues,
and yellows that form into a nice pattern that, if one looks close enough, depict
an elephant and a fish. In the center of the door is an intricate gold J to match the
brass doorknob.

~ Look of Censors ~
Though there are very few censors present in the immediate area, the ones that a visitor might come across
are dressed and painted in full green like plastic army men. The majority have helmets that are far too big
which makes them rather clumsy and easy to avoid as they attack blindly and run into things. They rather unpredictable
(rolling in suddenly in large tanks or falling from the sky like little paratroopers) so it’s best if you keep your ears peeled
as the music turns rather military when they’re about to swoop in.

~ Basic Layout ~
The City Blocks ~
A place with a horribly lame pun for a name, this is the place on lands when they first enter
the Toy Box. It has the feel of a city with tall skyscrapers made of brightly colored building blocks
and little wind-up cars circling the streets. There’s a lot of activity that goes on in this particular
section, but very few of it is relevant as the majority of the people here don’t say anything
other than the saying that were programmed into them. To the far West of the city, one will see
a large arch of blocks that spell out “The Lullabies” and is guarded by two very stiff looking
toy soldiers, but don’t worry. They’re only there to prevent censors from getting in. The block
walls are often plastered with posters that show 4 girls with the word Vegas above them. These are
show posters for the circus troop and seem to have been there a very long time.

Lullaby Lane ~
If one goes through the arch, they will find themselves on Lullaby Lane, a large, circular area
with a giant, ornate cuckoo clock looming above. Aside from a lone toy soldier, there are
no residence outside, because the only 4 live inside 99% of the time. It is when the clock
chimes that these women come out to be seen. On the ground beneath the clock are 3 Italian
music boxes which are the homes of the Lullabies and when the clock begins to chime, the
tops will open to form 3 stages and they will sing. Above them, connecting the cuckoo clock
to the towers of blocks, are very thin wires and a series of dangerous trampolines jumps
to test the courage and skill of anyone looking to reach the home of the renowned, Cuckoo.

The Cuckoo’s Nest ~
Once someone gets the guts to attempt the long climb up to the clock, they find themselves
entering through a small wooden door and into what appears to be a little house complete with
kitchen, sitting room, and a bedroom. There are 3 flights of stairs eventually leading one up to the
platform that would normally open to show the Cuckoo if she would actually attempt to sing.
The rooms are filled with pictures showing different moments in Jacques life and within her
dressing/bed room is what appears to be another version of her caravan room in the real world.
The Falcon's Keep ~
Though no one is really sure where this particular area is, the Falcon’s Keep is a horrifying
place to end up and is only accessible if the Falcon itself takes you there. It is basically a
dark cavernous place that somewhat resembles the inside of a very old circus tent and is
scattered with what appear to be very old, dusty juggling balls. This is where the Falcon sleep
and eats his meals….be they alive or not.
The Fair Grounds ~
There is, in a secluded alley of Jacques mind, a less cheerful place. One who wanders down
this way will pass through an old iron gate and into what has been known as the Fair Grounds.
This place is dark and very different compared to the rest of the cheerful landscape and takes on
the look of a very rundown fair. In the very center is the only working piece of this rundown
ghost town; a large carousel that plays a hauntingly fast melody as it spins around. The
horses on this look almost demonic, eyes glowing red, and one can hear their terrifying whinnies
on the breeze. This was once a very large piece of Jacques’ memory, representing her childhood,
but since her PDD began to develop, it has slowly begun to wear away and become twisted and
terrifying. The longer she stays at Whispering Rock, the more this spreads; making Jacques’ mind
terrifyingly dark and ghastly. Aside from the empty shells of memory vaults, there isn’t much to
find here.
~ Important People ~
The Lullabies~
Three of the snootiest girls you will ever meet that live inside the music boxes just out of town.
They represent Jacque’s sisters though they all look identical with the same long blue hair
and blue eyes and each is dressed in their own designated color. When the clock starts to chime
they start their songs at the top of their music boxes and then wait for the Cuckoo to come out
and sing her solo, but it has yet to happen so expect them to complain about it during every
conversation you get into. They dress in some of the most sparkling and random outfits
one could manage, but are considered the prettiest girls around and fill their rooms with flowers
and fan mail.
The Toy Soldier ~
A character that looks suspiciously like Raz, he is a kind and curious boy dressed in the
traditional clothing of a tin soldier with a black hat that he is constantly having to push up so
it wont fall into his eyes. He very openly admits that he is waiting for the cuckoo to come out, but
wont give any specific reason other than the fact that he wants to hear her sing. He will wander
around just outside the music boxes with his little plastic gun over his shoulder and whistle
nonstop to pass the time unless he happens to fall asleep somewhere. Then you’ll have to
wake him up yourself.

The Cuckoo ~
In her mind, Jacques plays the cuckoo who refuses to leave the safety of her home when the
clock begins to chime. She is desperately afraid that she will mess up and disappoint the
residence of the Toy Box, as well as knows that it will attract the Falcon and spends most of her
time staring out her window down at them and wishing she could do something. The Cuckoo dresses
in a bright yellow dress that is lightly trimmed with feathers and her hair is held back by a large
bow on the back of her head.

The Falcon ~
A mental representation of Nico and one of the most terrifying characters in the Toy Box, the Falcon hasn’t been seen in a while
as he sleeps quite soundly unless he hears the one thing that perks him up like an alarm.
He lies in wait for the Cuckoo to come out and make one mistake and when she does, swoops
down in an attempt to snatch her up and drag her off. He is a large, noble looking bird with
only one eye, the other hidden beneath a black patch with the Galochio symbol, and never has
anything nice to say. When he’s awake, he’ll pick up anything he can get his talons on. There seems
to be a secret between the Falcon and the Cuckoo, but no one is sure what it may be...

~ Basic Plot ~
The city is relatively alive with hundreds of toys wandering about though they
all seem relatively tired and disoriented. If you ask them (and manage to get a sane one) they
will tell you that this is because night hasn’t fallen in a very long time. Why? Because the Cuckoo
wont sing. They will direct you to the arch. The moment one enters through this arch, they
are almost instantly in time to see the show. The music boxes will open as the clock begins to
chime and the Lullabies will begin to sing loudly trying to prompt the Cuckoo from her clock, but
each time they reach the solo and holds their hands up to draw attention to the clock, the platform
slides out empty and barren. Why is this? No one really seems to know, but the Lullabies are
furious at “that stupid little Cuckoo” and will order anyone they see to go up there and talk some
sense into her. When you leave, you will get a chance to meet the Toy Soldier who will tell you
everything he knows; starting with the fact that he’s been trying to find a way up to the clock for weeks.
All he knows is if you can walk a tight rope, you can make it. Scaling this is a feat one should
take great pride in and will gain you access to the Cuckoo’s Nest though getting the Cuckoo to
stay still for a moment is equally challenging. She will run from you until you manage to corner
her, then mostly cry for a bit, but once she calms down, she will tell you that she is terrified to go
out there. It is up to you to give her the confidence to go out there and sing her solo, but be
warned, if she messes up night will not come and the Falcon will awaken to come and take both
you and her away ~
~ Reasoning ~
Jacques has always felt pressured to do things perfectly and impress her sisters, but
always has the feeling she wont live up to expectations. Because of this, she hides herself away
on the inside and has disposed of her own confidence in order to prevent disappointment in
herself. She feels like the world is watching and waiting for her and that things always fall onto
her shoulders and simply can’t bare the weight and decides it’s just easier to not even try. This
is what brings the story of the Cuckoo into play. The basis of the adolescent look of the mental
world come from her lack of a childhood. Basically, it’s a constant reminder of who she is and what
she’ll never have.
