Cannon Or Original?: Original
Character Name: Nicolai Galochio
Aliases: Nico
Special Abilities: Nico's psychic prowess lies in clairvoyance and precognition, as well as hydrokinesis. He is the only hydrokinetic in his family, and he and his eldest sister Helene are the only precogs.
Profession: Gypsy/circus performer
Skills: Nicolai can play mandolin, has excellent balance, is well-educated for someone who travels so much, very witty and snide, has a great deal of cleverness, and is very flexible with how he uses his powers. He can also change mindsets in moments if he needs to. One other thing is his limited acrobatic ability, since he trained in that field before he lost his eye.
Weaknesses: Nico has horrible vision because of his singular eye (no depth perception whatsoever when he's seeing on his own); his pompous nature often keeps him estranged from others; he has some insecurities stemming from his mother's illness; and he's very unwilling to associate himself with anyone outside of his family. He also is very rusty with his acrobatics, having not practiced them much since he was about seven.
Special Note: Nico's family the Galochios are the arch enemies of our hero Razputin's family, the Aquatos. Nico also supposedly has the ability to cast curses because of some odd tradition-slash-prediction made by one of his earlier ancestors. One of the curses Nico can supposedly cast is the Hand of Galochio. Of course, nobody believes in curses anymore.... right?
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Description: Nico's about 5'3" and a very lanky, thin boy with a triangular head and a sharp chin. His hair, a light blue color typical of Galochios, has a group of spiky, curved bangs that get into his face, though he generally brushes them over the side of his head which has no eye. Speaking of that, Nico has only one of his gold-colored eyes remaining. He's a very slender individual, with 'piano player' hands and almost dainty feet. (lol wtf I'm going into too much weird detail XD)
Clothing Style/Uniform: Nico has a black eyepatch that goes over his right eyesocket to cover up where his right eye should be. The eyepatch has the Galochios' symbol- a stylized eye- embroidered on it in gold thread. He also wears a black T-shirt with this symbol on it, which he layers over a striped blue and teal sweater. His pants are generic, stonewashed jeans, and he enjoys wearing his pointed black shoes. (He got them in Italy.)
Family: Nico has a large family; he is the seventh child between his mother and his father. His older siblings (oldest to youngest) are: Helene (17), Rafael (16), Serena and Lilibet the twins (15), Alphonse (14), and one missing brother by the name of Dmitry that, virtually, doesn't exist in the Galochios' family because of a great folly that dishonored him. (Nico knows almost nothing about him.) Less estranged from her family but still out-of-touch is their mother, Renata Galochio (42). Their father is Damien Galochio (48), who is also the owner of the circus they run.
Personality: First and foremost, Nico is pompous and proud. The Galochios have a unique type of family delusion; they are sure that they are of a better breed than the rest of the world, that the name Galochio makes them greater than all others. This delusion of grandeur translates into a great deal of snootiness and snide remarks, as he likes taking others shortcomings and making them clear as day to all the people around them.
Underneath this trained, immaculate cover is a more sensitive boy, however. The problems with his mother and the great expectations he is put under because of his family (indeed, being the only one who can cast curses) put a great deal of stress on him. He's more insecure under his prideful shell, but he's not so broken by these problems that they'll cause larger ones.
Quirks: Nico tends to whistle traditional Russian and Ukrainian songs, some of which being "Sasha" and "Dark Eyes." He also enjoys finding a high place and playing his mandolin at night. He also tends to finger his eyepatch when he's making a prediction about anything at all.
Likes: Water, night time, the color blue, Galochios, being a Galochio, Helene, his siblings, being psychic, freaking people out, mocking people, playing the mandolin, being intelligent, reading, books, finding out knowledge, maturity, besting his enemies, overachieving.
Dislikes: Insecurity, his bad vision (which he corrects by using Clairvoyance on those nearby), broken strings on his mandolin, inferior people, the Aquatos, Raz, people who think they're better than him, fire, being mocked, being reminded of his mother.
History: Nicolai Galochio was born in a gypsy circus caravan belonging to his parents, Renata and Damien Galochio, when they were last in the U.S. He grew up traveling, taught where and when he could be taught by his older siblings Rafael and Helene. When he was six or seven, Renata, his mother, started to get distant and lost around the caravan. One night she even wandered off, disoriented about where she was. The family took her to a hospital to see what was wrong, and she was diagnosed with PDD (Psychic Degeneration Disorder), a disorder in which the mind of a psychic or psi-carrier (someone carrying the gene for psychic ability) begins to unravel and come apart. Renata was kept in that hospital, since her PDD was rapidly becoming more and more serious.
Around this time, Nico began to have bad nightmares and night terrors about an accident involving one of their circus acts and a throwing knife. He didn't know who it would happen to, though. His father was thrilled; Nico was almost certainly a precog, just like his sister Helene.
Nicolai's dream-prediction came true one day when he was seven and a half and practicing one of their circus routines. Specifically, they were practicing the knife throw when his father threw one of the knives wrong and got Nico's right eye instead of the wooden board behind him. Thus, Nicolai lost his eye. Luckily, the blade wasn't very long and didn't get through to his brain.
Now that Nico's vision had been impaired, his father removed him from all of the acts he was in for fear he wouldn't see something and hurt himself. To replace this, Nico was allowed to run the fortune-telling tent, formerly run by Helene. Helene left her station to become the minor hub (their father being the major one) of the Galochios, keeping things running smoothly (since she is the only one in their family who has a complete high-school education. She skipped a grade. XD)
Nico continued to grow up on the caravan, becoming more and more like a Galochio by the day. Last year, he heard of Razputin Aquato's rise to fame and how it had started at a small summer camp called Whispering Rocks. Since Galochios are naturally competitive and the Aquatos are their mortal enemies because of the last curse-caster in the Galochio family, Nico immediately demanded that they travel to America so he could see this camp and best his enemy. His father agreed, but only if Helene came with him to keep him out of trouble.
And so, that is how Nicolai and Helene got to Whispering Rocks, prepared to cause any sort of havoc to best the Aquato family...
