Character’s Name: Orien
Look of Door: Like a medical patient’s room door. White, more or less featureless, with a gold handle… kind of generic, but heavy.
Name of Mental World: Idiosyncrasy Reality
Look of Censors: Black shadow wolves with glowing red pawpads and teeth. They use these in place of the ‘NO’ stamp that is so common among censors and always run in packs of two or more.
Basic Layout: Orien’s mind is a large forest of sorts, circular in nature, and the edge of the forest past the circle seems to fade into blank space and nothingness, a place that you can’t really return from easy if you walk into the darkness. Isolated, there’s nonetheless a peaceful log cabin on one side of the place, where Orien’s good memories and such reside… On the other side of his mind, where the forest is cleared away, however, a large, stoic hospital building towers up impossibly high. A large concentration of censors roam about in and around the hospital grounds.
Inside the hospital:
Clean, trimmed, and perfect, once inside the hospital, one would feel immediately much better. It’s not half as creepy inside as outside. Not only that, it sees to be utterly devoid of censors. The only being one would meet on the first floor is Kara!Cat, whom runs the front reception desk. She’s small and harried looking, completely caged in an indestructible wall of iron bars, and always concerned with making sure that no one and nothing gets near her while she does her work. And she’s always busy. She won’t have time for you and she won’t be able to help you find the key to her cage to let her have that vacation she keeps muttering about. Apex and Beacon can get her to talk, though, and they seem to like each other quite a bit.
Memory Floors: Apex and Beacon cannot move beyond the first floor of the hospital, so moving beyond that means that whoever does is on their own. The hospital itself is more or less a huge memory vault, as one would understand once they moved into the rooms on the first floor. The looks of the rooms and floors depends on what kinds of memories are there.
The Third Floor: No one can even get off the elevator on the third floor, and as for the stairwell… they might as well forget it. The Alpha Censor does her job well, and whenever there’s someone nosing about, she’s right there, all red teeth and paws. She doesn’t usually attack, though, and can converse with anyone who feels the need to. In most cases, she’s actually quite nice, which is odd for a Censor. But looking beyond, the third floor is a broken, nearly decrepit place, with holes in the walls and bloodstains on the floors. A few rotting corpses sometimes can be seen clumped in corners when it rains in Orien’s mental world. What doors there are, are closed tightly, and no life is usually seen beyond the black canine. Easily the creepiest and most graphic place in Orien’s mind.
Important People: Orien’s mind is almost entirely deserted. The only things the roam in any numbers are the Censors.
Orien: …oddly absent. He’s sure to be somewhere in his mind, but where?
Apex and Beacon: Large in the mental world, these cats are about the size of dogs, and can speak freely to anyone that comes through. They’re a good influence on the mind and generally work to keep the censors in from destroying and clearing away the forest. They work better together than separately, and generally hang around the cabin area.
The Censor Alpha: A huge female censor the guards the third floor of the hospital. No one gets past her, and the censor packs jump to her every whim. There are those that say she was created when all the existing censors in Orien’s mind merged on one occasion years ago… and not even Apex and Beacon together can do anything but keep her at bay. It’s unknown what exactly she is, or what side she’s on, as she does not threaten anyone but those who attempt to pass her.
Kara: A beautiful golden Siamese cat that runs the front desk of the hospital. She’s caged there, and despite attempts to free her, the lock to the bars has long since been lost
Costume Changes: In Orien’s mind, a person will turn into a cat. These cats will usually look much like the person… though for most, one can simply reference Kero’s Kitty!Characters to see what appearances they will have, or make one up yourself.
Basic Plot:
Orien’s mind is tightly closed, and thus, with the censors being the ‘dogs of war’, they will hunt down and eradicate any foreign entity with the sole exception of Orien himself. Like dogs to a master, they do indeed heed him… They keep what he wants to keep safe hidden, and very few could ever hope to break through. However, the outside influences of Beacon and Apex have been loosening his mind. The peaceful forest cabin against the strict and imposing hospital, both battling it out for eventual control over what kind of person Orien will soon become. Will he be bitter and resentful, or open and healed from the wounds of the spirit? Indeed… which one is which? It’s hard to tell, and no matter what side one picks, all they can do is try and wander the world looking for meaning in the confusion. There is no way to release Kara or get rid of the Alpha Censor without Orien’s help, and he, oddly enough, is hard to find in his mental world... I wonder why….?
The weather is unpredictable in Orien’s mind. Watch for rain, as that has odd and very adverse effects on the landscape.
Reasoning for Mental World: All his life Orien has been a little mentally split up. On one hand, he wants to join the world and be a good person... and on the other, he doesn’t want to have anyone that’s human close to him again. His mental world represents this. It’s all one place, and could work together if it chose to, but with the difference of opinions, two sides have developed that hold uniquely different aspects. The conflict within himself causes a war of sorts, one fought subtlety but viciously. A being that thrives on conflict anyhow, it’s typical to imagine his mind holds the same kind of thing that he seeks out in the real world. He still hasn’t let go of a lot of the things he should have in life, and likely never will without serious help.
