Classifying Powerplaying and Godmoding
Yes, I hate to admit it, but we have had a few cases of PP and GM on the site. This is, as stated in the rules, unacceptable so to ensure it does not go on, I will tell you exactly what powerplaying and godmoding is as well as what will happen if you are caught doing so or if people complain enough. Remember, this is only to ensure that everyone plays fair and things stay equal.
Powerplaying
Powerplaying usually pertains to fight scenes.
When two people’s characters are in a fight and one character never gets hit or has some form of completely unfair ability such as a hit that never misses or an impenetrable shield, they will not be allowed to go on. Powerplaying is a very unfair thing to do when roleplaying as it is basically saying you’ll always win. When doing fight scenes and such, one should always break the hits they take with the attacks they make evenly so that both characters sustain the same amount of damage. Also, it is wise to talk to the other person you’re roleplaying with to see who will win and such beforehand to avoid any confusion. Remember, you can’t always win. This is powerplaying and this is BAD
Godmoding
GMing is probably one of the worst things someone can do in a roleplay. Godmoding is basically when someone controls the actions of someone else’s characters. Now, this is different if a character is not under the control of someone, such as playing a character that has yet to be taken on the site, but control characters made by someone else without their permission will not be tolerated. GMing can cause all kinds of trouble as it does not give other roleplayers a fair chance. Controlling someone else’s character, if complained about, will not be tolerated.
Actions Taken
If someone is caught pping or gming and an admin is alerted, cases can range and can easily lead to your account being suspended. Minor offences wont be anything bad. Your post will simply be deleted and a warning may be issued. If, by chance, you have done either of these and it is SO BAD that the admin a has received multiple complaints, then things may get serious. Consequences of repeat offence to a high degree will lead to loss of your account, a suspension, or even all out banishment from the site. These are actions only taken against those who do it often and refuse to stop. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask.
