Lol They mean a hot topic. If a thread gets more than 20 posts I believe, it becomes a hot topic and that's the symbol for it

Yup. Super hot topics are red, just burning folders are hot normal folders are bleh

What would you do to lock one? What would one have to do with a locked file-folder/topic?

It's basically just a thread that no one can post replys on and sometimes (depending on how I lock it) can't access. So I might lock it if they were innappropriate, didn't want responses, or wanted something like an admin only thread. You'd have to do something really bad to make me lock it.
